I was born in Pennsylvania but have lived in the South for most of my life. I grew up in Denver, North Carolina and my wife, Ruth, lived her whole life in Irmo, South Carolina. I went to Appalachian State University on a running scholarship for Cross-country, Indoor Track, and Track and Field. I graduated in 2004 with a degree in Interpersonal and Small Group Communication. I was married that summer and worked for a year while Ruth received her master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language. After her graduation, we moved back to the Denver area where I served as a Children’s Minister and Sports Outreach Minister for Lakeshore Presbyterian Church, PCA. I graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary where I received my Master’s of Divinity. We have one daughter - Adah Edith and recently had a new addition to our family, a son—Jonah William. They are a blessing from God (though 2:00 AM feedings don’t always feel that way!) I enjoy running, cycling, camping, motorcycle riding, and soccer. I also love illustrating and drawing in my free time.

I am married to Bill Blevins and we have two children, Benjamin, age 24 and Katy, age 20. I was a stay at home mom until Katy entered elementary school and I have worked part time in churches since and have been New Perth's secretary for six years. I grew up in the Methodist Church where my parents were members but became a member of New Amity ARP Church after Bill and I were married. There I teach Children's Sunday School, take part in Women's Ministry and play the piano and organ. I like to read, play the piano and in pretty weather work outside gardening or mowing the lawn. Yes I am an ASU football fan...go Mountaineers!

I grew up right here in Iredell County. I graduated from Statesville Senior High School. While in school I played the trumpet and the bagpipes in the Statesville Grenadier Band. I enrolled in Mitchell College pursuing a music degree taking piano, organ and voice. I was a member of the first graduating class from Mitchell Community College. I then attended Catawba College in Salisbury graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in music with a focus on organ. I started playing the piano in church for my home congregation when I was sixteen. In 1984 I was offered an organist position at First Presbyterian Church in Statesville. In the summer of 1999, I began playing here at New Perth. When I am not working I love to work out in the yard and ride my jet ski.

I grew up in King, NC (Stokes County) where my family attended a Baptist church. I was always very active and involved in the church, especially as a teen. I attended college at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where I received a Bachelor of Arts in English, Professional and Creative Writing. I married the love of my life, Rob, just 2 weeks after graduating, and moved to Myrtle Beach, SC to further my husband’s career. I applied for the Critical Needs Program in SC, passed the Praxis, and began teaching on a temporary teaching certificate. After teaching for 1½ years, my first daughter, Riley, was born in 2003. God answered our prayers when my husband was transferred to Statesville in 2004. I have been a full time mom since then, and now have another daughter, Reagan, of 18 months. In my free time (what’s that?), I enjoy scrap-booking, reading, snow skiing, boating, and chasing the tallest, fastest roller-coasters I can find. I have been warmly welcomed by the church, and I am thankful for the opportunity to be here.

I became a member of New Perth in July of 2006. In January 2007, I became director of the after school program although I had been involved with it since 2003. Currently I enjoy working with the junior and senior high students. It is sometimes hard to see me as my husband (Casey) and I are up in the balcony working the sound board and overhead screen equipment. In my spare time, I enjoy long walks, writing short stories, scrap booking, reading, cross stitching, and painting.
